Nau mai, haere mai, ki Aotearoa
Welcome to New Zealand
Aotearoa New Zealand is located in the southwestern Pacific Ocean and is home to just over 5 million people. It has two main islands (North and South), plus numerous smaller islands, including the picturesque Stewart Island, located south of the South Island. The country is known for its stunning and contrasting natural landscapes, from pristine beaches and fjords to active volcanoes and rolling hills. New Zealand’s indigenous Māori culture is an integral part of the nation’s identity.
During February, New Zealand is still in peak summer, with mild to warm days and endless opportunities for outdoor activities. The general climate ranges from 60-82 degrees Fahrenheit (16-28 degrees Celsius) throughout most of the country. When you visit, you’ll find an outdoor playground for biking, hiking, surfing, diving, camping, snorkelling, fishing, rafting, and boating. It’s all on your doorstep. Our regional information below has been compiled to give you an idea of the diversity of our regions and resources within.
